Our love story takes us back in time to 2016 when both Quenten and I were attending Tarleton State University. We were teammates on the cross country team who knew of each other, but our relationship was nothing more. Quenten was a freshman beginning his journey at the best kept secret in Texas, and I was a junior starting to think about my career as Teacher. We were on our own life paths that would eventually bring us back together. Fast forward 3 years to 2019. I was returning to Tarleton to start my masters, and Quenten was going into his senior year. At this point, we still did not know anything more than each other’s names. However, It didn’t take long for our relationship to turn from teammates into something more. Our first date was a late night Whataburger run for taquitos. After we got our food, we spent at least two hours just talking in the Whataburger lobby. I knew he was the one when he invited me over the next day to watch the Cowboys game. Little did I know, he was actually a Brady fan. Over the next few years, our relationship grew as we navigated the pandemic, long distance, and finally getting to coach side by side at Valley View. On June 25, 2022, we began a new chapter in our love story. We were on our way to watch a Rangers game with some of our friends to celebrate his birthday. As we approached the stadium, he slowed down his walk and came to a stop in front of the stadium. Before I could figure out what was going on, he was down on one knee and asking me to marry him. Of course I said yes! After a bunch of pictures and tears we got to celebrate the beginning of our lives together with some of our favorite people. It was the happiest day of my life, and I cannot wait to spend forever with my best friend as our love continues to grow.
