How it all Started

Love at first Like

Nick and Haley met through Instagram. Having common friends, Nicklaus was very determined to take Haley out on a date. After a month of hesitance, Haley decided to give him a chance. The couple met for their first date and both of them knew they would be great for each other. He eventually won her over with his jokes and cooking skills. The rest is history.

The Proposal: Haley’s Point of View

"After having to quarantine, I was going crazy sitting at home and not being able to be around anyone and go out and work (Anyone that knows me, knows I love to be around people and love to get out and do things like shop and spend time out of the house). I decided I wanted to rearrange furniture one day and Nick had sternly said “No. I can move the couch. Just wait for me to help!” With already being emotional, I walked away upset and Nick could tell I was stressed and decided to make my night better. After asking me 10 times if I really do love him and want to be with him, and me repeatedly saying yes and reassuring him he is who I want to spend the rest of my life with, he got down on one knee in our bedroom and asked me to marry him. After me being upset the whole day a rush of pure happiness hit me that tears began to fill in my eyes. I accepted the ring and gave him the biggest hug and kiss." -Haley

“Here it goes…. After dating the girl of your dreams for 4 years you start to sweat the idea that you have certainly waited too long to pop the question. I am, well, we both, are terrible at waiting; and I had bought the ring a few weeks prior. Debating whether or not I had to make an unforgettable special moment, record that moment, or something embarrassing in public; I had taken the ring everywhere with me, and stashed it away, for the 'perfect' moment. On this particular day I had it stashed underneath the couch. Somehow or another it came up that she wanted to move the couch. Now me, being a typical dude, obviously panicked and made the situation way worse, that ultimately ended in an argument. Knowing she just had a positive covid test and was extremely upset about having the quarantine, and now upset because I had upset her; I decided that waiting too long had already been occuring for the 4 years I had been so lucky to spend with her. I grabbed the stashed ring from under the couch and practiced what I wanted to say. She was laying down for bed and I said "do you love me?" She said of course and I said "you promise you aren't going to leave me, even when I'm stupid" and again, she reassured me. Nervously, I pulled out the ring and said "well will you marry me?" And she jumped out of bed, with [presumably happy] tears in her eyes said oh my god yes!” -Nicklaus
