Michael did an internship in Greensboro, NC the summer before his senior year at UNC Charlotte. The company he interned with heavily recruited young graduates from Big Ten schools so he became friends with a lot of them that summer. He went back to school in August and in October Haley accepted a job in Greensboro! Being a Big Ten graduate, she quickly became friends with that same group of people and when Michael came back to work after graduation the following year.. she was the super cute girl ;)

We were on vacation in Santa Monica and I had the whole day planned becuase it was Michael’s birthday!! We rented a car and did all the things: rodeo drive, picked out my house in Beverly Hills, UCLA campus, Belair, Malibu pier for lunch, up to Matador beach in Malibu and took a nap in the sun, drove the canyon.. so many beautiful views!!! Then Nobu for a super fancy dinner on the beach in Malibu! Drove back to Santa Monica and parked at home, changed, got some drinks and took our blanket to the beach for sunset. But it was so windy I did not wear a warm enough sweater so I told Michael he better drink quickly!! Lol But he wanted to he was like we’re stay and enjoy the views… I guess it was his birthday afterall. As we’re sitting there (freezing).. he’s says “this was the best birthday ever!” And I was said “well its not over yet!!!” (thinking.. we were going to get birthday dessert still). About 5 minutes later he goes “ya know what you’re right.. it hasn’t been the best birthday yet but it would be if you’d marry me” and pulled out the ring!!! I screamed OMG!!! And collapsed and THEN it was the best day ever!
