Marcus and I hadn't been on vacation together in about two and a half years, so we decided to plan a long weekend trip and drive up to North Carolina with Sombra for a mountain getaway. Our first full day there, we stopped for a late breakfast at one of Asheville's trendy biscuit joints and then started to make our way to a scenic trail, Triple Falls Trail. I'm obnoxiously and persistently logical and wanted to know why we weren't going to get an early start for the hike like one normally would. Marcus scolded me for ruining the surprise and told me he really wanted to get some family photos and hired a staff member at a N.C. property who was a photography student to get some photos of us. We finally arrived at the trail and approached a lookout point at the bottom of the falls. Marcus said he didn't see the person he hired, but that we should go down and grab a photo real quick before continuing to the next lookout to search for her. After some coaxing, I agreed to climb up on the rock at the over look so a bystander could grab a photo of us with my phone. They took a couple photos and I felt Marcus let go of my hand and turn to get down on one knee. Of course the answer was yes, and, while I know people were clapping, I don't even remember hearing them. It turns out the person I handed my phone to was one of our two photographers that Marcus secretly hired to capture our perfect moment and then do a session with us afterwards. He did an incredible job planning the perfect proposal and it was even more special since Sombra was there with us.
