(Haley)We met in November of 2019 at our mutual friend, Nicole Ferrell’s, house for a Target employee Friendsgiving. I had known Kaleb had worked at Target, but we worked in different areas and I had never talked to him. The night of the party, I ran to Brookshire’s to get some ice and had an accident with a drunk driver. By the time I got back to the party, Kaleb was there, and I was intrigued. A few people had him take their picture, and I asked him why he wasn’t in any of them. After forcing him to take a selfie with me, I was hooked. For the rest of the night I just wanted to be around him and talk to him. Anywhere he went in the house, I followed. After that, I asked Nicole for all the details about him. I was interested in him, and everyone in my work area knew it, (especially Tiffany). I talked about him like I knew him for my whole life after just one night. (Kaleb) We met at Nicole's house and I really don't know how that was the first time we had met. I had been working at Target for more than 2 months and had yet to ever see Haley. I thought she was Nicole’s sister, but I was immediately attracted to her. I don't mean just the physical attraction, but like I was attracted to every single thing about her. She had bangs and I was a sucker for that. She was flirty with me, but without being direct. She did flirt directly one time, and I remember it like it was yesterday. A coworker asked, “Hey! Come take a picture with us!” I responded, “ I don't take pictures.” She looked me dead in the eyes with the sweetest look and said, “Well, you should.” I have been in love ever since that moment.
(Haley) I have several, but I'll just start with my top two dates. The first is when we went to the zoo before a friend's wedding. We just walked around looking at the animals and just talking. This wasn't our first date, but it was my favorite because we actually did something besides eating or being around people. My ultimate favorite date is when we took a trip to Arkansas. Even though we had Kaleb’s brother with us, it was still a lot of fun. We weren't on a schedule of any sort and just chose whatever we wanted to do. This was also my first time learning how to play disc golf. Ultimately my favorite dates are normally when I get to be with Kaleb and it's even better, when I don't really have to share that time with anyone else. (Kaleb) I have two. The first one was the zoo because it really felt like our first date as a true couple. Like we had other dates before, but on those dates, we were just going to eat, which can get repetitive. I loved seeing how happy she was to see the animals and how she specifically made sure we saw the giraffes because they're my favorite. The other favorite date was when we went to have coffee and ice cream in downtown Longview. We just walked around and found a bench and sat down. She was very giddy and excited to just simply be with me and I was the same way. While we were sitting down, she rested her head on my shoulder. She had done that a ton of times before, but for some reason, this time was very special to me.
(Haley) I never understood the saying “ you know when you know” until I met him. However, I wouldn't change our proposal because God’s timing is everything and waiting made us actually talk about the harder things when it comes to a marriage. When we got to a month before he proposed, I started to get a feeling it was going to happen soon. People dropped hints without even saying it, as well as Kaleb saying things that I don't think he realized was hinting a proposal was coming soon. I had an eerie feeling it was coming because I would walk around people and they would be talking about it but then seemed to stop, like when people gossip about someone and that person walks up. Now I know Kaleb had a different plan than what happened, but I believe things occurred the way they did because it was God's plan for our proposal. I wouldn't change a thing about the proposal and I am beyond excited to be planning the wedding that I have envisioned since I was a little girl. (Kaleb) There are three words to help describe this: anxiety, frustration, and excitement. I was so anxious about proposing. I know she knew it was coming, but we both knew it was time for us to take that next step. I knew she was going to be my wife, and I wanted to plan a special day for it. I only say frustration because a lot of things didn't work out the way I had planned. Is that a problem? Absolutely not. I wouldn't change a single moment about the proposal. It was a good frustration because I can look back and laugh at myself getting worked up about wanting something to go right even though it went left. But left was the only right direction to take after all. I also have so much excitement because Haley’s going to be my wife!!!! Who wouldn't be excited about that? I was so ready to finally make the move and start our life together as a married couple. Everyday we get closer to a wedding makes me even more ready to be her husband.
(Haley) The best way I would describe our relationship is like an old couple. We have fun and laugh like crazy; we have yet to leave the “cupcake.” We can also playfully argue over little things. I love our relationship because we are two imperfect people creating a life and trying to follow Christ obediently. Our love for each other grows larger everyday and I can only hope it continues that way. (Kaleb) Our relationship is perfect with countless imperfections. Our relationship is like a recipe. A bunch of weird stuff that is maybe not so amazing by itself, mixed into a final result that is amazing. I'm not whole without her and she’s not whole without me. We operate as a team, and we’re dang good at it, too! I've loved every single moment in our relationship and can remember the smallest details that eventually led up to a marriage. Who would have known that the girl I met at a friend's house would end up being the most amazing and perfect bride. I love you more than I ever have, and tomorrow I'll love you even more.
