How We Met

2017

Josh and I grew up knowing each other through mutual friends, but it was not until our senior year that we truly got to know each other. We had a student leadership class together, were both nominated for homecoming court, and attended the homecoming dance in a group. Josh says he first really noticed me at a mutual friends birthday the summer before our senior year. My first memory of him was on the first day of school while we were all taking "last first day" pictures. He was wearing a dark green button down and gave me a new appreciation for the color green, but it was at homecoming when he started dancing to "Get Low" that I knew he was the kind of guy I could never get tired of being around. You can expect to hear this song at our wedding and if we are lucky maybe he will pull off the same dance moves he did that night. The following night he asked me on our first date. I am so thankful for all of the sweet memories I have spending every day together during that first year of our relationship.

The First Date

09.29.17

Josh strategically asked my friends about my favorite places before asking me on our first date, so we spent the evening at Panera, made a Target run, and ended the evening at Bubble Bubble. We went back to my house afterwards and spent time talking to my parents. One of my friends and bridesmaids, Casey, remembers both of us snapchatting her throughout the night. When we made it back to my parents we sat on opposite ends of a couch and Casey said we both sent her messages about wanting to move closer to one another but being too nervous. It is a silly memory, but a sweet one to look back on..

The Yes Day

11.06.21

On November 6th, Josh took me on a picnic date at the Texas State Capitol. My nails were done and he had insisted I wear a dress, so if spending the last 4 years of our relationship knowing this was coming and accidentally signing for the ring a week earlier didn't give it away those special requests probably did it. I was almost as giddy walking to the capitol from the parking garage as I was on our first date. When we finally made it to a very specific picnic spot, we laid out the blanket he had bought and both sat down. Already on one knee, he opened up the picnic basket with the ring sitting perfectly on top. He later told me that in that moment he thought "well I guess there's no working our way up to this." He asked me to marry him at the exact time the capital building bells rang. It all felt surreal to officially be marrying the guy I had thought was totally out of my league just over 4 years earlier.

The Best Day

11.21.22

We are so excited to celebrate the beginning of this next chapter with some of our closest family and friends. See you on the big day!
