Haley and Joel technically first met in 7th grade at a social dance class. But neither of them really remembers this, so they say that they met in high school. They had a mutual friend during their time at Tyler Legacy High School and considered themselves acquaintances, but never really got to know each other. Then, they each decided to attend the University of Texas at Austin. A few weeks into their freshman year there, Joel reached out to Haley, and they went to see a movie on campus. The rest is history! After dating all through college, their relationship became long-distance after graduation. Joel moved to Lexington to pursue his master's in statistics at the University of Kentucky, and Haley moved back to their shared hometown of Tyler, Texas, where she is working toward a master's in clinical mental health counseling online. It was during a trip Haley took to visit Joel one weekend in September that he asked her to marry him! After the wedding, Haley will join Joel in Lexington, Kentucky. The couple is so grateful for what God has done in their relationship and in each of their lives. They give Him ALL the glory for the opportunities He has given them, and request prayers that God would bless their union, and that they would put Christ first in their marriage and in all they do.
