We met in a very "modern" type of way. My mom actually sent me pictures of him via text message, telling me how cute he is and how we'd be adorable together considering how much taller he is than I am. I agreed and worked up the courage to follow him on social media and shortly after, he followed back! Then, I posted on SnapChat, and he slid up on it and messaged me. Pretty soon, we were falling for each other and a year later, we got engaged!
On the anniversary of the day we met, I woke up to what I thought was going to be a normal Saturday. I slept in, and JJ told me he was going to come over about lunch time. When I got done with breakfast, my mom handed me a note. Inside, there was a certificate to get my nails done and a note saying I was going to go on an adventure and too enjoy the places and people I would meet. This adventure involved a trip to the nail salon, lunch where we went on our first date, going to my grandmother's to get dressed where he'd left an outfit, makeup, and stuff to do my hair, then going to "our spot" where he had laid out pictures of us, and finally, the Natchitoches Riverfront where he got down on one knee, and we began this lifelong journey together.
