Best Man
DJ is both my older brother and my Best man. We’re only about 10 months apart in age, so we basically grew up doing everything side by side, school, sports, getting into trouble, giving each other a hard time, and competing. Unlike most brothers, we got along for the most part and were really close growing up. But still, with us being that close in age, there was always a little bit of a rivalry too, mostly spent on trying to prove who was right and (I still think it was me most of the time, and still do). I’m also definitely the favorite son, but don’t tell him that 🤫. We were always around each other, and I know we probably drove our parents a little crazy, especially our mama. Me and him have shared a lot of side-by-side memories and moments over the years, and having him stand beside me as my Best man just makes sense on one of the biggest days of my life, even if he’s coming in second place once again😂, but honestly, I wouldn’t trade him for any other brother in the world. I’ve had the chance to watch him grow and become a dad to my niece, and just seeing how he loves and cares for her is an amazing thing.

Groomsman
Trae is my cousin and one of my groomsmen. He’s been around since the day I was born, so he’s basically watched me grow up my whole life. Over the years, he’s always been someone I could look up to for advice (even if I didn’t always like the advice) or help, and in recent years, he’s taught me a lot and has been there for me. At times, I’ve even looked and still do look to him as almost like a father figure. He’s also the person I call every single time something goes wrong with my car, or I need help figuring out anything mechanical. At this point, I’m pretty sure every time my name pops up on his phone, he already knows I broke something again or something has happened. I’m sure he’s probably tired of it by now, because honestly, I know I am 😂. All jokes aside, I’m really grateful for everything he’s done for me over the years. Having him stand up there with me on my wedding day means a lot, and I’m really glad he’ll be part of the day.
Jr. Bridesmaid
My sister from another mother, truly, who has always felt more like a sister than a cousin. I'll be honest, when Cheyenne first came along, I wasn't exactly thrilled and was a little jealous seeing that my aunt now had a baby to spoil instead of me. But I have grown out of that now (for the most part). I can't imagine my life without her. From the moment 10-year-old me got to hold her for the first time, I knew she would grow up to be a beautiful, funny, and sassy young lady. I'm lucky to have her standing up there with me on my special day.

Miss Anessa, the family's Princess, has a sparkling, sassy personality. And though I may not be her aunt by title, I genuinely feel like one at times; my heart is filled with gratitude to be part of her life and to be able to watch her grow and blossom, which brings me so much joy. I'm especially excited that she is part of this special day for her uncle and me, as it makes our celebration even more meaningful. From the very first day we met her, we both fell in love with her tiny self. She truly shines in our big family, with her personality that keeps us all entertained. There is never a dull or sad moment when she's around.
