Estes Park, Colorado is at 7,523 feet of elevation... far above sea level, where many of you will be traveling from. Be sure to stay hydrated! Hydration will help with most altitude sickness symptoms. Also, be careful with alcohol consumption, especially on your first day at elevation. They say one drink equals three up here....If you are known to have issues with altitude, talk to your doctor about pre-medicating.
September in Estes Park is beautiful. During the day, it tends to be in the mid 60's while at night, the temperature can drop quite drastically. The ceremony and cocktail hour will take place outside (weather permitting) so please bring a jacket / coat. The reception will take place in a heated tent.
The wedding ceremony and reception are cocktail attire, meaning semi-formal dresses and suits. If you plan on wearing heels, make sure you wear a block heel as the wedding will be outside on grass. Additionally, bring a coat... it gets cold at night!
There will be shuttles to and from the wedding ceremony / reception on Saturday, 9/23, departing from The Stanley Hotel, The Ridgeline Hotel, and the Estes Park Visitors Center. We recommend everyone take a shuttle to the wedding ceremony / reception because THERE ARE NO UBERS OR LYFTS in Estes Park. There will be parking at the venue if you wish to drive. If you wish to make a trip out of our wedding weekend to explore the area and Rocky Mountain National Park, it may be helpful to rent a car. However, there are shuttles you can reserve to and from the airport, and with the shuttles we are providing for the wedding activities, a car rental is not necessary. See more about transportation on our Travel page.
