I still find it hard to believe as I type this, but it was actually Bryce’s dance moves that first intrigued me. Now, it was hard not to question: Who is this guy? Has he never been to a dance in his life? I will admit, in his defense, he was one of 3 guys in a room of 20 girls, so it was easier for him to stand out. I will back up. We met while both applying for a Morale Committee member position for St. Ambrose University Dance Marathon. Dance Marathon is a club at many universities that raises money for the Children's Miracle Network, a network that supports children in hospitals across the U.S. In order to be a member, we had to split into groups of three, and these groups had to perform the dance in front of everyone. This was when we first started noticing each other - mostly because we are both horrible dancers. From there, we continued to get to know each other as we were both committee members and would see each other in passing going to such a small school. Our first date was a group date with friends to watch the Cubs win the World Series. I definitely think that was the first sign that he was the one. He finally asked me out in December while we were studying for finals, and the rest is history!

With Bryce home for the summer, one thing he wanted to do was visit our old stomping grounds, St. Ambrose University. I initially didn't think anything of it as I thought maybe he just wanted to walk down memory lane. After walking around campus to see how it had changed, we were both getting hungry for lunch. Bryce suggested we return to the park where we had our very first date just the two of us. We went and grabbed some snacks and had a picnic at the park just like we had all those years ago. When we got up after finishing lunch, I picked up my purse, and when I turned back around he was down on one knee. He asked me to marry him and for the first time in ages, I was speechless! I of course said "YES!" and we spent the rest of the day celebrating in the town where we first met. We can't wait to celebrate the start of our forever with you!
