“Why is it," he said, one time, at the subway entrance, "I feel I've known you so many years?" "Because I like you," she said, "and I don't want anything from you.” ― Ray Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451 We met at the beginning of the 2012 school year, quickly becoming friends. We found we had a slew of similarities including a love for ruckus music, art history, and an appreciation for fine men's footwear. After months of a developing friendship, we set up an actual date. Donning all black and wearing cat ears, we headed where every broke teenager goes for entertainment, the almighty library. We walked up and down the stacks, stopping specifically to look at books on art and music, fascist dictators, and sci-fi pulp fiction. We spent hours there, sometimes talking, sometimes reading separately in comfortable silence, until they finally closed. Parting ways, we left with an unusual and eager anticipation for school on Monday, and the solidification of Halloween as our favorite holiday. Because of this date, arguably one of the most defining moments of our early relationship, we ask you to join us in participating in the greatest of traditions, dressing up like hooligans and acting like fools.

For all the days along the way
