As you may or may not know, we are a Tinder success story. After we both swiped right, Haley messaged first and Alex messaged back pretty much right away. We had great conversations about our career paths, hobbies, funny stories about life experiences, and our goals before finally deciding to go on our first date a few weeks later. The rest, as they say, is history.

Just like in real estate, it's all about location. And it better be one we would want to return to. His first location was going to be in the plaza outside Mexicali Rose, but a large crowd waiting for a boat tour changed that. The next location was going to be a ledge across the water from the restaurant, but after a big dinner of Mexican food, a hike was out of the question. So with no prior planning, we drove to where the Highway A washout occurred in 2008 and the proposal took place on a small fishing dock named Priegel Pier, by ourselves away from people.
