Butte is a really unique town that has always had Haley's heart. A lot of her family lives here and she enjoyed growing up visiting this little mountain town with its wild history, fascinating architecture, and kind people. So when Haley was getting to know Phil, she was very excited to show him this spot. During a night of college shenanigans while visiting friends and family, Phil must have loved it too because he officially asked Haley to be his girlfriend right there in the streets of Butte. We can't wait to share it with all of our friends and family on our special day.

We know you didn't ask this, but here's the answer anyways. It's literally two (kinda) architects getting married, what did you expect? The Finlen Hotel opened on January 1, 1924 and was inspired by the Astor Hotel in New York City. Although it was designed in the Second Empire style, there are subtle notes of Art Deco that can likely be attributed to the decade that this building was constructed in. Unlike other architectural styles that kept to consistent stylistic rules, Second Empire utilized design characteristics of several historical forms. This free adaption mirrored the belief at the time that in America, one could pick and choose the best from the past. Combined with its location in a mining town, this makes for a truly unique structure.
