We met through mutual friends at Northern Arizona University in 2013. Both of us were athletes, so we ended up running into each other often and quickly became friends. The following year, we ended up as neighbors in a neighborhood close to school. Another year later, we had gotten very close; whether it was driving to school, supporting each other's sporting events, or walking to parties, we spent a lot of time together. Eventually, we realized that our friendship had blossomed into a relationship that we were both very happy with.

August 13th started as a typical Tuesday for both of us. Kris went to work for the day and I had plans to meet up with my mom and sister, Devyn. Over the last few months, us girls would meet at my mom's house to watch our TV show; however, this Tuesday we had plans to go out for Devyn's "going away to college" dinner. Since my mom and Devyn were in on the surprise, they offered to pick me up for dinner and drive me back to my mom's afterwards. Kris works down the street from my mom's so I suggested that he pick me up after work on his way home that night. Knowing what was coming, they thought that was a GREAT idea. The three of us went to dinner, then headed home to watch our show. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary until I walked inside my mom's house. The back door was open and I saw Kris standing in the grass, surrounded by candles. A table decorated with roses, chocolate strawberries, champagne, and pictures of us stood behind him. I instantly burst into tears as I made my way toward him. He got down on one knee, took out the ring, and popped the question. I made the easiest decision of my life... I said YES!!!
