MANITOGA / The Russel Wright Design Center
Closer to the Venue-Manitoga, the home and studio of industrial designer Russel Wright, is open for public tours from mid-May through mid-November. Tours are available Friday through Monday at 11:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., 1:00 p.m., and 2:00 p.m., with extended 2-hour tours offered on select weekends at 3:00 p.m. All tours are guided and require advance reservations. Access to the house, studio, and gallery is by guided tour only. The experience includes a moderate hike through the landscape, with uneven ground and a 40-step stone stair with handrail. If you're looking for a perfect day trip during our weekend at Tarrytown House Estate, Cold Spring is a must-visit, just 45 minutes away. The town is known for its charming Main Street, lined with antique shops, art galleries, and cozy cafés like Hudson Hil's Café for breakfast or lunch. For nature lovers, you can take a scenic walk along the Hudson River or hike up Breakneck Ridge, one of the best hikes in the area with amazing river views. If you prefer something easier, Dockside Park offers a peaceful spot to relax by the water. Cold Spring also has a great mix of history, local shops, and stunning views, making it a perfect getaway for a few hours.
