How We Met

12/5/2015 - A Whole Lotta Fate. A Little Bit of Liquid Courage.

We met at a local watering hole in downtown Mankato. We like to joke that this is all thanks to a little bit of liquid courage and a whole lot of fate. We realized the odds of us being in the same place at the same time that evening were very slim. This is the beginning of our story and our evidence that everything happens for a reason.

The Promotion

3/14/2019 - Parenthood

We began our next chapter together with a promotion and title change: Mom and Dad. We welcomed our sweet girl, Brynlee Renae Caffin into the world on March 14th of 2019 in Mankato, MN. This was the beginning of a new adventure! We are enjoying our journey as a family and are so blessed to share our day with our little lady by our side.

The Proposal

07/27/2019 - A Big Surprise

We went to visit our friends - the Staudinger Family at their cabin near Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. This was our 3rd annual trip up to Door County to visit with Brett's family. We've made some great memories with this family during the weekends we've spent with them. This year would be the first time The Staudinger's would meet Brynlee. The original plan was to visit in June. However, I had chosen to stay home and skip the 7 hour drive with a 3 month old. I was told they had plenty of fun anyway. Fast forward a month to July. We are invited up the the cabin once more. Bryan let me know that he really wanted to go and introduce Brynlee. I agreed. During the drive I remember Bryan saying "we have to get a sunset picture on the dock with Brynlee this year." (This was just one of our annual traditions). I agreed excitedly! Bryan, Brynlee and I met our friends Brett, Blake and Jordan at the cabin that Friday night. We spent time with the whole crew that Saturday. During the last evening at the cabin, we sat around the fire pit and finished our dinner. Bryan suggested that we take advantage of the beautiful sunset and take our picture. I handed my phone off and started walking to the dock. I remember sensing something was a little goofy. I thought at the time I was about to get pushed into the lake! Much to my surprise, I turned around to find Bryan on his knee. We popped champagne and celebrated with the group for the rest of the night. I was told later that Bryan was planning to propose during the first visit in June. The Staudinger's, Brett, Blake and Jordan all made a second trip to the cabin to accommodate. Our friends and family all knew what was happening that weekend and I got the big surprise! That weekend will always be a treasured memory. We are so excited and blessed to share this celebration with you. See you at North Star Farm!
