Back in August of 2021, they met for the first time at a mutual friends birthday party at a local bar. They almost quite literally bumped into each other, when a friend stopped Dan and introduced Jaclyn to him as the "the guy that babysits Bane". Bane being their mutual friends, gigantic but lovable rottweiler. You see, Jaclyn had been pinning to be the one to get to watch Bane ever since she moved back to Delco from Dallas. Well, that started a conversation that never ended that night. They enjoyed their Miller Lite and Corona, getting to know each other, and planning their first "official" date until the bar shut down. Funny enough, they later found out there had been multiple times they were in the same place at the same time. Goes to show, sometimes patience and good timing is everything.
After a year and a half of dating, Dan and Jaclyn planned a vacation to Dallas, TX. Jaclyn lived in Dallas for over 4 years and wanted to show Dan the city that she adored. Jaclyn didn't know the ring was packed and Dan had a plan (sort of). The first morning after arriving, they decided to take a walk along White Rock Lake. As mentioned, Dan didn't really have a specific plan, but more of a "I'll know when the time is right". Looking over the Lake, Dan got down on one knee and asked Jaclyn to marry him! The most perfect, intimate proposal, with not a soul in sight. The timing, was most definitely right.
