In the summer of 2018, when Hailey was on the lookout for a cutie to spend the summer with and DJ was preparing to make the most of his last summer before he went off to line school, they were set up on a blind date. Hailey called off work on a Tuesday to go kayaking with DJ, and they spent 7 hours kayaking the Buffalo river, chatting, drinking beer, and getting the most absurd sunburns of their lives. On their second date, they booked a vacation together. And after that, they became practically inseparable.

After only six months of knowing each other (three of them being long-distance), DJ and Hailey moved to Colorado. Was it crazy? Yes. Was it the best thing they ever did? Also yes. Throughout the three years they lived in Fort Collins, Colorado, they spent most of their time brewery hopping, making new friends, traveling to see friends and family, going on vacations to new places on the west coast, and building their careers.

DJ and Hailey decided to move back to Buffalo in the spring of 2022, buy a house, and you guessed it, get married. With friends and family scattered across the country (looking at you Sarasota and Fort Collins!), they are so excited to celebrate with the ones they love most in Buffalo this September.
