I'll never forget when Hailly was determined not to have a horrible first date. She didn't do so well trying to skate. After watching me easily skate around the skating rink, I tried to make Hailly comfortable skating. I could see that she was incredibly nervous. As I held her hand while trying to help her keep her balance, I could feel her hand trembling with fear. She barely made it around the rink. When she tried to skate alone, she fell and wasn't happy about it. She was ready to go. I couldn't help but laugh because this was a disastrous first date for her. However, she was so mad that she was determined not to end the night with a loss. She yelled that she wanted to bowl. After getting our bowling shoes, the date didn't get any better for Hailly. The bowling lane we played on initially gave me all of her points. It was just another disaster for Hailly. She went to ask to put us in another lane. Before getting ready to bowl in our new lane, Hailly proclaimed, "They're Trying to Stop My Greatness". It was at that moment that I knew I wanted to be with her. I had always said I was destined for greatness, and it was great to finally meet someone who refused to lose. Yes, she kicked my butt in bowling, but I couldn't have asked for a better first date.
