Downtown Calumet
Downtown Calumet has a variety of shops, bars, and restaurants to enjoy. This would be a great area to check out between the ceremony and reception as the reception venue is very close by. Check out Cafe Rosetta for delicious coffee and food, and the Copper Scoop for homemade ice cream. Shute's, a historic saloon from the 1890's, is a cool bar to check out!
Four Suns Fish & Chips
This restaurant is right off the highway near the Quincy mine and is about 10 minutes from Calumet. They serve fresh whitefish caught daily and you can get it fried or baked, in a basket, taco, or sandwich. Troy requests we go here every time we are up north in the summer.
Downtown Houghton
Main street in Houghton has many shops and restaurants to enjoy! They also have a social district so you can enjoy a drink as you walk around.
The Jampot
Take a cruise along M-26 and make stops along the way at Eagle River, The Jampot, Eagle Harbor, and lastly, Copper Harbor. The Jampot has delicious bakery and jams, including thimbleberry jam.
Fitzgerald's Restaurant
This restaurant is one of our favorites and is about 20 minutes north of Calumet. Make a reservation if you can and try the poutine!
Copper Harbor
At the very top of the Keweenaw Peninsula is Copper Harbor, a small town with shops, restaurants, mountain biking trails, and scenic views. This is about 45 minutes from Calumet and would be a fun day trip!
