Hailey started at Fisher Investments a month after Ryan. She was immediately intrigued by this Clark Kent look-alike who spent most of his lunch breaks studying Spanish or working on one of his many blossoming hobbies, However, she knew she wanted to get to know Ryan better when she watched him win a dance battle in the middle of the street at last Thursday. Not many guys she knew had those moves, and even fewer were willing to dance in the middle of the street. She spent the rest of the summer trying to find opportunities to spend more time with him and their mutual friends at work lunches and happy hours. At first Ryan was quite oblivious to Hailey’s attempts to get closer to him. But soon, he started to notice this cute brunette hanging around more and more. After a few months, Ryan got his act together and began reciprocating the attention. Never one to rush into things, he asked her out later that year. While they met through work, what really attracted them to each other was the passion with which they each pursued their interests outside of work. Through the first few years of their relationship, Hailey kept busy performing and teaching dance, while Ryan took every opportunity to climb up and ski down the mountains of the northwest. As their connection grew, they shared more and more adventures together. Hailey proved she could hold her own on outdoor raft and back-backing trips, and Ryan joined Hailey for yoga and even a few dance classes. 7 years later they continue to share a mutual love for the outdoors and trying new things. Ryan proposed on the top of Washington Park, at the viewpoint at Pittock Mansion. Looking out over all of Portland on a cold and clear night, they spoke about their shared goals and dreams for future adventures. They are grateful for each early morning commute and restless night on the trail that brought them closer together, and are beyond excited to see what is yet to come.
