Our story started the way a lot of modern love stories do on Hinge. After matching and a little bit of chatting, we decided to meet up for coffee, but I’ll admit, I was a little nervous going into it. Before the date I found out just how small our college town was when I called my friends for encouragement and was told by one of them that Peter was her boyfriend's roommate one semester. The advice she gave me that was my final nudge to go on this date? “He’s weird… but so are you (in a good way).” That was just the beginning of what felt like an invisible string tying us together all along. We met at a coffee shop for our first date, and what was supposed to be something simple and low-key turned into hours of easy conversation and nonstop laughter. We got so caught up in conversation we had to be politely kicked out as we stayed 20 minutes passed there closing time (we didn't even realize them cleaning the table around us). Somewhere along the way, the nerves disappeared, and it just felt right like we’d known each other way longer than we actually had. Not long after, life surprised us in the best (and biggest) way we found out we were expecting a baby. What could have been overwhelming instead brought us even closer together. Through every moment, we leaned on each other, grew together, and built something stronger than we ever imagined. Our baby changed our lives. He deepened our love and showed us what we’re truly capable of as a team. From the very beginning, there’s been this unshakable feeling that we’ve always known each other. Before all of this, neither of us really believed in soulmates but somewhere between that first coffee date, all the laughter, and everything we’ve built since, that changed. What started as two slightly nervous, slightly weird people taking a chance turned into a love story that feels like it was meant to be.
