We're getting married!

I first heard about Jonathan when my sister made me go to a meet and greet. We were standing behind Jonathan's mom and two sisters when his mom and my mom struck up a conversation. One thing led to another and Tracy ended up telling me that she thought Jonathan would absolutely love me. After exchanging numbers we had a few conversations but it never really took off. A year later, we decided to hang out for the first time and actually "dated", if you will. Although we really liked each other, we acted as typical teenagers and went our separate ways but remained friends. Over 6 years Jonathan and I have been through all of the ups and downs. I supported him while he went through the seasons of life and he was always my listening ear when I was pregnant with Jax and figuring out life as a terrified new mom. Through every phase of life we have grown and now we have grown into a beautiful family. We have had our fair share of fights, laughs, tears, but also so much happiness- but it has all led us to where we are today. Although our story is crazy, I think we both agree that difficult roads lead to beautiful destinations and ours is pretty dang beautiful.

The talk of getting engaged and being married one day came up often and we both knew that we wanted to build our futures together ( let's be real, we basically planned our wedding before our engagement.) After knowing each other for 6 years, it was bound to happen. On December 19th, 2020 we had a family Christmas party to attend at Hailey's aunt and uncle's house. Hailey was slightly suspicious of the engagement happening soon but she suspected that it would happen at the Botanical Gardens when they were supposed to go see chirstmas lights the next week. The night was going well but as everyone gathered into the house for a secret Santa game, Hailey's mom, sister and Aunt Lindsey, Jonathan, and Jonathan's best friend all huddled on the front porch. Through the whole secret Santa game, Hailey's heart was basically beating out of her chest, just wondering what the random huddle on the front porch was and wondering if this was the big moment that her and Jonathan had talked about for many months before. As the game wrapped up and Hailey started to mingle around the room, Jonathan pulled Hailey close, told her how much he loved her and Jax, and before Hailey knew it Jonathan was down on one knee! Jonathan says that he felt it was the perfect time to take the plunge because all of the men that were important in Hailey's life were there to witness it.
