How We Met

First was The Spark, Next Was the Boom!

John Fraley and Hailey McCracken met at American Fireworks Company on June 30th, 2023 "officially". John and Hailey had known each other for years in passing as they both worked for American and would see each other periodically. John was always sweet and respectful but always went out of his way to talk to Hailey about art and music. John a driver and pyrotechnician for the company for over a decade and Hailey new to the company and industry, working in shipping and social media; she asked John for his phone number to get photos of his show (Which she never got) and they never stopped talking after. After the 4th of July passed Hailey asked John to accompany her to a fire spinning gig and after that they were inseparable. They did everything together and spent any second of free time together that they could. They went from friends, to best friends to soul mates. What began as a friendship in passing blossomed into a love to take care of each other and always make time for each other. Self-less love is the basis of this story, leading Hailey and John to where they are now. ENGAGED!!! AND LOVING LIFE!! Everything about Hailey and John's coming together was simple and patient. To this day John and Hailey shoot fireworks shows together and travel around the East Coast always looking for new ways to expand and grow.

Our Engagement Story

February 21st, 2025

It was a cold, snowy day as John and Hailey set out of town for a weekend getaway—one meant to celebrate the love of their dear friends, Angeleigh and Brendan Ronne, at their wedding in Michigan. When they left the house that Friday, Hailey had no reason to think this trip would be anything other than a fun-filled escape. Little did she know, a simple pit stop at a frozen waterfall was about to change her life forever. As they pulled off the turnpike, John casually told Hailey that his boss had given him a bonus and that he wanted to do something fun with the extra money before continuing north. Slowly, the city of Cleveland faded behind them as they drove deeper into one of Ohio’s beautiful national parks. When John parked in a quaint lot tucked into the snowy landscape, Hailey noticed something familiar—Allisun and Jason’s little yellow Mini Cooper. At first, it was partially hidden behind a van, but when the van pulled away, there was no mistaking it. Hailey immediately sensed something was going on. She kept asking John why Allisun and Jason were there, and he did his best to play it off, insisting it wasn’t their car and trying—somewhat unsuccessfully—to keep the surprise hidden. As they walked toward an overlook above the river, Hailey spotted Allisun and Jason waiting there. John and Hailey joined them, taking in the breathtaking view of the river below, framed by iced-over waterfalls and fresh snow blanketing the ground. While Hailey admired the frozen beauty of the scene, John, brave and steady, dropped to one knee and asked her to be his wife. Overwhelmed with joy, Hailey said yes—ecstatic and excited to begin her life with her soulmate.
