Jared and Hailey started dating at the beginning of their senior year of high school in Lago Vista, TX. They were both involved in football pre-season practices, with Jared as a player and Hailey as a student athletic trainer. Word had spread to Hailey that he liked her, but she wanted nothing to do with some quarterback jock. However, she still gave him a chance over lakeside bon fires, Sonic ice cream runs, Friday night lights, and Dee Dee's tacos. They've been through many ups and downs since. From dating through their last year of high school, entering a long-distance relationship throughout undergrad, Jared having two reconstructive knee surgeries, and completely unpacking their first apartment in League City only to pack back up and move to a different state a week later. They settled in Notre Dame, Indiana for three years, learning how to combat living in a new place with something called "snow", and lots of it. They have since found some of their favorite places in Michigan, one being Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park, where Jared proposed in October of 2024. Now, they have both graduated with doctoral degrees, Jared as a Juris Doctor and Hailey as a Doctor of Physical Therapy. They will be moving to San Antonio with their two kitties, Scrat and Venus, in the Fall of 2025 to begin their careers. They are not the same people they were when they first started dating almost 8 years ago, but they learned how to support each other and better themselves individually, together as partners in life, and in their relationship with God.
