Ian had planned on proposing on top of Mount Spokane at the end of the the 2019/2020 winter season. However, on March 15th we unexpectedly had our last day on the mountain as it was shut down due to Covid a few days later. With the whole country locked down in quarantine, Ian had to think of a different way to pop the question. On May 24th, after the stay home restrictions were relaxed, we decided to take a hike up the summit of Mount Spokane. The road was still closed due to snow, so this required parking and hiking up the mountain. There was still plenty of snow to be found in the shady parts, especially on the back side where we decided to hike straight up a ski run, Gary's Glory. After being stuck in the house for 2 months, it was great to be back on our mountain, albeit very out of shape (well at lest one of us). Ian proposed and of course I said yes. He may have almost killed me getting to the top, but it was so worth it! So much of our relationship has been on Mount Spokane and we couldn't imagine a better place to commit our love to each other.
