Matron of Honor
Hailey and I met in 2005 in 6th grade. We had every class together except one and quickly became inseparable. Our personalities complemented each other then and they still do now. Through middle school we had dumb fights over DUMB boys, passed SO many handwritten notes, and had a code name for every guy that went to our middle school. In high school our friendship only became stronger with each year. There were tears, there were smiles, but most of all there were laughs. Even though we live 7 hours apart, she is still my best friend. Hailey helped me face my fears and I know without a doubt I wouldn’t be the person I am today had she not been in my life for the past 15 years. Our friendship is the most special friendship I have ever had, and I am convinced it always will be.
Best Man
I moved to Florence, Alabama in 2011 to attend the University of North Alabama. This is how I came to meet my section leader Ian McCollum. Through what can and should be described as absolute torture our friendship was formed. After many performances, life experiences, and years later I am truly blessed to call him my best friend.
Maid of Honor
Hailey started out as my section leader in the Pride of Dixie marching band, but it didn't take long for us to become roommates and friends with plenty of stories with spontaneous decisions and adventures. After inviting me to run errands, we quickly became each other's confidants. Going on 5 years of friendship and being a living sitcom, I see her more and more as a sister too.
Groomsman
I officially met Ian at the international Tuba Euphonium Conference at Indiana University in 2014, just before we both started our Masters Degrees at Columbus State University. I had reached out to him to meet him before classes started and we were immediately connected by a shared thought of “There’s too much tuba happening at this tuba conference” and a love of coffee. We spent a few afternoons at the nearby coffee shop that had AMAZING cold brew. Ian thought this was the greatest gift to mankind and likely didn’t sleep for the rest of the conference. Seriously, I’ve never seen anyone drink coffee that fast. Frightening. I grew to enjoy the company of that goofball during our time in Columbus, and I’m honored to serve a minor role celebrating Ian and Hailey’s new life together.
Bridesmaid
Hailey and I met through the UNA band. We both pledged TBS and were in the flute section together. After hanging out a few times, we quickly realized how much we were alike. It didn’t take long for us to become best friends, and roommates! I can’t wait to see your beautiful self on your perfect day!
Groomsman
Ian and I met while working on our Master’s degrees at Columbus State University in the fall of 2015. He was one of the first people I met when I arrived in Columbus and to this day I have never met another person like him. From accidentally stapling his leg in what he thought would be a funny practical joke on me, to setting up thousands of chairs and stands, through many coffee trips to Fountain City, and performing with the Wind Ensemble - we did it all. I’ve been so fortunate that we’ve been able to keep up our friendship over the years and am grateful to have shared so many hilarious memories. It is because of Ian that when I’m faced with a seemingly monumental task I think to myself, “Let’s kick this pig.”
Bridesmaid
Hailey and I have been friends since the sixth grade. We met in math class and have been inseparable ever since. She is still one of my closest friends and I am so thankful for our friendship. We have made so many memories together and I am very excited to add standing next to her on her big day to the list! I know she will be a stunning bride. Congratulations Hailey and Ian!
Groomsman
I met Ian at a get together for all of the new tuba/euphonium graduate students at Florida State University. I think we found each other hilarious, and ended up bonding that year over our mutual love of music, books, and frequent hallway conversations. Ian has become an extremely close friend, and I am incredibly grateful for his influence and perspective!
Bridesmaid
I have been friends with Hailey for almost eight years. We met through the Pride of Dixie and by spring of our freshmen year, I considered her to be one of my best friends. Through the years we’ve only gotten closer and there’s no one else like her. She’s an amazing friend, the best bonus Aunt and our friendship is something I hold close to my heart no matter how many miles are between us. Proverbs 17:17
