Our story began during our very first semester of college at Sonoma State University. After noticing each other around campus and passing by one another more than a few times in the cafeteria, Hailey finally invited Hunter over to try some cake pops that she and her roommate had made. Of course, Hunter showed up with all of his friends, and from that day on, Hailey became known as the "cake-pop girl." Neither of us knew it at the time, but that simple and quick invitation would end up changing both of our lives. After that, we started spending more and more time together. What began as casual conversations quickly turned into study sessions, shared meals, late-night walks, and finding any excuse to see each other. Before long, we had become inseparable.
Before the proposal, Hunter secretly recruited two friends and made a special trip to Sacramento with one important mission: asking Hailey's parents for their blessing to marry her. With their support and a ring safely hidden away, he patiently waited for the perfect moment. That moment came during a family trip to Hawaii. We were taking family photos on one of the most beautiful beaches, with the ocean in front of us and breathtaking mountains rising in the background. After finishing the family pictures, the photographer had us step aside for a few couple's photos. At one point, he asked us to walk hand-in-hand down the beach. As we walked, Hailey couldn't help but think, "This feels exactly like an engagement pose." When she turned around, she was met with the sight of Hunter pulling a ring from his pocket and getting down on one knee. Surrounded by the beauty of Hawaii, he asked Hailey to spend forever with him. Of course, she said yes! After celebrating and soaking in the excitement of the moment, we changed outfits and spent the rest of the day adventuring through Hawaii on ATVs at Jurassic Park, making an unforgettable day even more memorable.
