They say there’s an invisible string that ties two people together, and ours just happened to stretch across the streets of Yorba Linda. We both grew up just minutes apart—Haleigh John and Hailey Archuleta—playing PYL softball, attending local events, and even competing in the same CIF softball game in high school (Haleigh’s sophomore year, Hailey’s freshman). Despite sharing friends, fields, and so many spaces, we never actually met. That is, until Hailey A. swiped right on a girl with the same first name (shoutout to Hinge) and Haleigh J. asked her to grab drinks on November 17, 2021. With a little help from modern dating and a lot of fate, our once-invisible string finally revealed itself—and we’ve been tangled up in love ever since.
