to have and to hold

Ever heard of the invisible string theory? That your person has been connected to you your entire life, you just didn't know it until the right time? Well that's exactly what happened with Grant and Hailey (and yes, Invisible String by Taylor Swift is played in the house frequently because of it). Grant and Hailey's story started well over 20 years ago. They met through Grant's cousins when they were little and though they were never really friends, they knew each other and saw each other around frequently. Grant and Hailey both grew up in Edgewood, attended the same grade school and college, and crossed paths throughout the years but never really thought of each other any more than the "other kid that was in their friend's house all the time". Fast forward to 2022, where Grant and Hailey re-met at a rehearsal dinner party. Hailey walked into the bar with a high pony, and a long sleeve Michigan shirt, and Grant came right over. He looked at Hailey and said "do you remember who I am?" to which she replied, "of course, you're Grant! Do you remember me?" He looked at her with a smile and said, "yeah, Hailey!" They spent the night talking, laughing, flirting, and bonding over a few jager shots. Grant then ignored Hailey at the wedding reception, and he likes to say that was his way of piquing her interest. Obviously, it worked or we wouldn't be telling this story :) The following week Grant replied to Hailey's instagram story about a UK football game (go cats!). Once they started talking, they didn't stop. With Hailey living in Michigan at the time, they spent countless nights texting, FaceTiming, and setting up Netflix party dates. Hailey drove back to NKY every other weekend to visit, and Grant came to Michigan as well. They both knew there was something special between them, and knew they had found their person. By that March, Hailey had moved home to NKY and the rest is history! Grant proposed at a private spot at Eden Park in the middle of June. Hailey was so completely oblivious that Grant had to literally drag her to the spot he had picked out, until she realized what was happening. Grant and Hailey can't wait to celebrate with all their best friends and family, and can't wait to see what their life together brings!!
