G: It was the day after Valentines in Downtown Salt Lake City. I, being my high strung self, was stressed and running late for a photo shoot with my bandmates. The past few days I had been communicating with a photographer I'd never met before. I had no idea what she looked like; all I knew is that she was a wedding photographer and shooting a punk band was a little out of her comfort zone. The first time we talked on the phone (ironically) was because we were both lost and running late trying to find the barbershop everyone was meeting at. When I walked into the barbershop I scanned the room to see who I'd been talking to. My eyes passed over a girl sitting in the front lobby that was definitely too pretty to be our photographer. As my eyes finished scanning the room I realized she was the only girl I didn't recognize. Instantly feeling nervous, I walked over as confidently as I could to introduce myself. As I reached my hand out to shake hers she grabbed ahold of mine. I immediately felt an electric connection. The whole rest of the shoot I made it a point to be as close to her as possible. I even pretended to like coffee so I could tag along when she left to grab a cup in between locations. After that shoot we talked sun up to sun down for days, had our first date and the rest is history.

H: It was Friday and G & I had plans to meet up with our two friends Steph & Nick for a dinner date in downtown SLC. Garrett was already up in Salt Lake doing what I thought was vocal work. I had a shoot that day much further south & was going to have to meet everyone later. I asked Steph for a ride up since she was living very close to me at the time. Little did I know that Steph had been in SLC helping Garrett set up the proposal at her & Nick's studio, Studio Noire Noir. Like an angel she drove south an hour through traffic to pick me up just to turn right back around. We start nearing downtown & Steph asks if we could stop at her studio so she could set some things up for her shoot the next day. She assured me the restaurant was just down the street & the boys wouldn't mind if we were late. I didn't skip a beat & said sure, while continuing to chat her ear off. Somehow I didn't think twice about the camera and flash in her hand - I KNOW. As you can tell what I lack in observance I make up for in blind trust. We walk into the lobby of her studio where you can see through glass doors into the left side of the main studio room. There are tea lights and roses all over the floor. I look at Steph with glowing romantic eyes and say "Is this for you??" - thinking Nick set it up for Steph. She looks at me and laughs while pushing me through the door. I turn to my right and Garrett is sitting on a stool holding his guitar. It hits me and my eyes start welling - which if you knew me then that didn't happen very often. Garrett chuckles & asks "Is this okay?" meaning the set up and I laugh and say yes knowing how nervous he was for this moment. He sings All My Life and I start growing alligator tears. Finally he says some things that I will never recall, gets on a knee & I get nervous - I have no idea what the ring will look like. He opens the box & I start WEEPING. He designed a ring more 'me' than I could even dream up myself. He asks me "Will you marry me?" & I said YES.
