Our first date would set the tone for what would become 9 years of laughter, discovery, eclectic adventures, and a world of love. After accidentally ordering $40 worth of the worst sushi we’ve ever had, we then spent several hours trying to find a single movie theater that was playing The Revenant starring Leonardo DiCaprio (a 3 hour movie about a fur trapper and a bear attack in 1823 for which DiCaprio would win what was clearly a sympathy Oscar). On paper, it was a bad date, but in practice it was perfect. During the course of the next 9 years, we would explore our shared passions such as music and theater (leading to a strange 6 month obsession with the musical CATS), and discover new interests such as our love for K-Pop and Korean cuisine. We have learned more about ourselves and each other, falling more in love with our idiosyncrasies every day. We have truly become best friends, and we are each other’s biggest support system. This foundation has carried us through the most difficult times in our lives, and will continue to hold strong as we take on what else the world has in store for us. We are looking forward to using our wedding as an opportunity to share with you, in joy and celebration, as we make official what we have always known to be true: that we were meant for each other.
