We're getting hitched!

They met on a bitterly cold December night, the kind of evening when the stars seem to shimmer with secrets. Hailey had noticed him at work before, their glances quietly passing like ships in the night, but never truly spoke—their worlds only brushing the edges of each other. Then, just before Christmas, her phone lit up with a Snapchat notification: “Someone wants to add you.” As a 19-year-old woman, her heart fluttered with curiosity and anticipation. When she saw Calab’s name, she couldn’t help but wonder what fate had in store. Old doubts echoed in her mind—Yet something felt different this time. She added him back, and after a little sleuthing, he messaged, “I don’t have negative intentions. I saw you at work and just had to ask you something.” His sincerity made her smile. He asked her to dinner, and about a month later, they found themselves driving up to Davenport, Iowa. They laughed over Raising Cane’s and sat at Leech Park, the winter air creeping through the car windows, and the night feeling full of possibility.

Amidst the stress and change of parenthood, Calab still couldn't imagine himself with anyone else. As he saw Hailey at her worst, he saw it for her best. He witnessed the change she had undergone within the 9 months of pregnancy, the new person she was blossoming to be. It was giving him more reasons to love her. He had the ring hidden from his parents for a while and knew that their 3-year anniversary would be the day he got down on one knee and popped the pretty little question. Hailey had a weird feeling in her stomach all day, but ultimately chalked it up to postpartum anxiety as they were leaving the baby to go out for a date. While they were away, Hailey’s mom knew exactly what to do and when to do it. She grabbed a couple of ‘check-in’ photos for momma bear and waited for Calab's signal to get the baby ready. As they pulled into town, Calab hurried to text Hailey's mom at a stoplight in town, praying it was enough time. Once arriving back at her mom’s, Hailey instantly noticed the outfit change and just wanted to hold her baby. Hailey’s mom makes sure she can read the shirt, and instantly, all Hailey could say was “you’re joking, right? You’re lying? Wait are you serious?” Obviously, she said yes.
