Hailey and I first met...at a UNC football game of all places. I had been thinking about going to the game, but wasn't sure whether or not I would go. I first met Hailey on Christian Mingle a few days before and really wanted to meet her, but noticed she was a few hours away in Charlotte. I was living in Raleigh at the time, so wasn't sure exactly how this would happen. After remembering that my Tar Heels were playing the Gamecocks in Charlotte this year (of all places), I thought this would be a fun first date if she was up for it. We spoke once beforehand (to make sure everything was legit!), and I sent her a ticket to the game at Bank of America Stadium. I thought Hailey was beautiful after first seeing her in person at the front of the stadium, and became more and more interested as we talked throughout the game. Since we really seemed to hit it off, we walked over to Redeye Diner in Charlotte's EpiCentre after the game to continue our conversation where we discussed our interests, the importance of Christ in our lives, and just about everything in between. This evolved to us driving back and forth on I-85 from Charlotte to Raleigh to see each other just about every weekend, and then pretty much every weekend. I proposed on June 5th, 2021 after finding a new job in Charlotte at the beginning of the year, and the rest is history!
