Our Story

Hailey and Nolan met in Colorado in August of 2023 thanks to a girls’ trip and a little behind-the-scenes matchmaking. Hailey traveled to Colorado with Summer and Kelby (Nolan’s sister), who had already decided the two would be a great match. Kelby had spoken to each of them separately, and while Nolan was interested, Hailey was certain it would never work—long distance was not an option. Nolan lived in Colorado, and Hailey was still finishing college in Walla Walla. Once Hailey arrived, Nolan seemed to conveniently be around quite a bit. Between trips to the shooting range, workouts at the gym, and time spent exploring the mountains, the two quickly began to realize how much they had in common. From the start, they felt unusually comfortable around each other. Just three days after meeting, Nolan asked Hailey on a date. The next day, they took Nolan’s motorcycle to go axe throwing and grab Chick-fil-A. After the date, they went to Lake Loveland and spent hours talking about life, goals, and aspirations. Hailey had to leave only two days later, and while long distance felt daunting to both of them, they agreed there was something special worth exploring. They stayed connected through FaceTime, and about a month and a half later, Hailey returned to visit Nolan, During that visit, they shared their first kiss and gained even more confidence in their connection. Soon after, Nolan traveled to Medford to visit Hailey, meet her family, explore her hometown, and even take a trip with her to Walla Walla. After a few more trips, Hailey met Nolan in Las Vegas before Thanksgiving with his family. While there, Nolan officially asked Hailey to be his girlfriend. Long distance became their normal, and although it wasn’t easy, they made it a priority to see each other at least once a month. Along the way, they shared many adventures—horse shows, a trip to Moab, mountain hot springs, and countless memories that brought them closer together. Through it all, they fell in love. Eventually, it became clear that long distance couldn’t last forever. When Kelby accepted a job in Medford, Nolan made the leap—moving to Oregon with no job and no money, but with full determination to make it work and continue pursuing Hailey. Through months of growth, challenges, and new adventures, their love continued to grow stronger. When they decided to begin splitting holidays, Hailey joined Nolan’s family for Thanksgiving in Newport Beach, California—slightly suspicious, but unaware of what was coming. The day after Thanksgiving, they went on a coffee date and finished it with a walk along the beach, While they were walking, they saw dolphins jumping in the water (the dolphins were not paid actors). Distracted by the dolphins, Hailey didn’t notice the proposal setup until they were right beside it. Nolan got down on one knee and asked the big question. She said yes—then turned around to see not only Nolan’s family, but also her parents and two of her best friends who had flown in for the surprise. They spent the rest of the weekend celebrating and enjoying the beach with friends and family before heading home and jumping headfirst into wedding planning. Now, they can’t wait to celebrate with everyone in June.
