It was our junior year at Auburn when my best friend, Maddie, got invited to the Phi Tau formal in New Orleans. I was excited for her, but secretly so jealous because I wanted to go! The next day, I got a text from a random number asking me to be his date. It turned out he was Maddie's date's roommate, Henry, who also needed a date. Although I was hesitant about spending a weekend in another state with a complete stranger, I decided to go for it. On February 4, 2022, we made the 6-hour drive to New Orleans. Along the way, we bonded over our love of Taco Bell, TV shows, and being die-hard Auburn fans. We spent the entire weekend together, and what I thought would just be a fun weekend turned into so much more. Four and a half years later, after graduating from Auburn, moving to Atlanta, and earning our Master’s degrees, we’ve grown through so many seasons of life together. Now, we’re so grateful to have found our way here and can’t wait to spend forever saying “I do.”
