We met during our junior year at Southern Utah University through a mutual friend (thank you, Danny) at a fraternity house party. We started as friends, but it didn’t take long to realize there was something more between us. Our first official date was that August — sushi in Park City on a warm summer night. From there, our connection only grew deeper and we were able to see each other in a new light. After Weeze graduated college, we did a year of long distance — a season of late night calls and weekend visits. Once Matt graduated college and moved back to Northern Utah, we were finally reunited and able to truly start planning for our future. After returning from our first trip to Japan, we signed a lease and moved in with each other … on the very same day everything shut down due to COVID. We were suddenly navigating a new chapter in the middle of a global pandemic, and somehow, it brought us even closer. In many aspects we are opposites, like our zodiac signs or how we grew up, but we balance each other in all the right ways. We love to explore new places, try new things, and embrace every opportunity to grow and learn together. Whether we're traveling to different countries or enjoying the little moments at home with our dog Yuki, we're happiest just being side by side. One of our most unforgettable adventures was in Costa Rica, where Matt surprised Weeze with a sunset proposal at the beach — and yes, she was completely shocked! It’s crazy to believe it’s already been eight years since we went on our first date. From the very beginning of our relationship, we’ve loved taking things slow, soaking in each moment, and just being present with one another. These years spent together have been the best of our lives. Each chapter — from boyfriend and girlfriend to fiancés — has been so full of love, laughter, and deep connection. Now we’re ready for our most exciting chapter yet: marriage. We can’t wait to begin this beautiful new season, hand in hand, with hearts full of gratitude and excitement for all that’s to come. We’re so excited to celebrate with all of you — the people who have supported us along the way. Cheers!
