Haile and Christian met at Trinity University during their freshman year. They were introduced to each other by a mutual connection - Haile's childhood best friend who also happened to be Christian's college roommate. During their first year and half of college, they were a part of the same friend group and became good friends. Looking back on their friendship, they always had an eye for each other.

They joke about how their relationship started - Haile shares that she really started to notice him after he lost a bet and was forced to shave his head and Christian claims that Haile always knew it was him from the time they met freshman year. But the relationship really began after a spring break trip with their entire friend group during the spring of their sophomore year. Once they were back on campus, Haile and Christian started spending more time together and the rest is history.

Christian took Haile out to dinner at Del Friscos in the Galleria. When they arrived the hostess took them to a private room where the table was set for six and the menus read "Christian and Haile's Engagement Dinner". Unplanned, Haile saw the menus and immediately was shocked. Christian sat Haile down at the table and shared that she was the one and that he could not imagine his future without her. At the end of the speech, he reached into his pocket, pulled out a ring, and asked her to marry him. It was the easiest "Yes!" Haile has ever given. After she said yes, their parents surprised Haile and they all had dinner together to celebrate.
