Wedding F.Y.I.s

Social Media Free Wedding Celebration

We want you to be able to really enjoy our wedding day, feeling truly present and in the moment with us. We've hired an amazing wedding photographer, and we're inviting each of you to sit back, relax, and just enjoy the wedding. We're respectfully asking that everyone leave all cameras and cell phones off during the ceremony. Photos during the reception however, are highly encouraged! Ceremony Pictures from our photographer will be available for you to download! :) Additionally, we would like to be the first to share photos with loved ones who are absent today, and are asking guests to kindly refrain from posting photos of the wedding or tagging us in wedding-related posts until the professional photos have been shared.

The First Hello

(4.9.2018)

Our love story began when we both swiped right on Tinder.

The First Date

(4.15.18)

We had our first date at Olive Garden. It went so well that we closed down the place, went to a local bar, and closed that down too!

When We Knew

(July 2019)

For his National Guard Annual Training (AT), Jordan was going to be gone for most of July, and for 3 weeks we would be unable to have any contact as he couldn't take his phone out to the field with him. Her Words: Jordan called me out of the blue, days earlier than I was expecting. The second I heard his voice, I knew that he was the one I wanted to spend my life with and any worries I had about being a military spouse dissolved. I knew if we could handle two plus weeks of no contact, we could handle anything. His Words: For me, it was a lot of little moments that added up until one day it hit me, I want to spend the rest of my life with her and I better start shopping for her ring.

The Proposal

(2.23.20)

For a couple months prior to our 2-year anniversary, Jordan had been talking about how he had the perfect anniversary present but he wasn't sure that it was going to get here in time because it kept being delayed. When it finally arrived, he kicked Alyssa out of the apartment and into the bedroom so he could work on this project in secret. For at least two weeks he kept complaining about how difficult this present was assemble, leaving Alyssa wondering "What the HELL did he GET ME?!?!". Eventually he came into the bedroom looking completely defeated. "You know you can just give it to me half-finished and I can help you with it once its open". Cue Jordan saying "Wait here" as he spontaneously decides to give her the gift ahead of time. The gift that he was working on so hard was a series of nested boxes where the sides of the box fold down to reveal photos of the two of us. Alyssa kept lifting off the lids and revealing more pictures until she got to the final center box, where the ring box was hidden. As the words "No, no, no, this can't be happening, OMG is this actually happening?" (in a good way!) are running through her head, Jordan takes the ring box out, gets down on one knee and proposes. After saying yes, they call the moms to share the good news and get some much needed reassurance that this was real. :)
