If I'm flying in, should I get a rental car?

Answer

Definitely consider having your own form of transportation! Though the Resort and the Wedding coincide with one another, Cacapon is a pretty remote location, and you will more than likely want to explore the surrounding areas or even drive into D.C. for the day!

What will the weather be like?

Answer

When you think about April in Northern Virginia/Berkeley Springs area, think, "I should prepare for anything!" Definitely consider rain (April Showers Bring May Flowers :) ) and expect temperatures anywhere from Sunny and 70 to Dreary and 40 degrees. We suggest packing for a temperamental weather schedule but fun weekend!!

Is smoking allowed?

Answer

While tobacco products are permitted anywhere outdoors, it is not allowed inside any Cacapon facility including the tent. That being said, the use of marijuana is illegal in West Virginia and is VERY legally prohibited and punishable on any state park grounds.

Are there Ubers or Lyft?

Answer

More than likely, no. Maybe closer to bigger towns like Winchester and Leesburg Virginia, but definitely not near Cacapon.

Outside Wedding?!

Answer

The ceremony will be held indoors at the local church, conveniently located 4 minutes from the reception. Depending on the weather, cocktail hour will be held indoor/outdoor with the reception being held under a heated and enclosed tent. So, rain or shine we will be fine!

Is there parking for the wedding?

Yes! There is plenty of parking at the church, and ample parking at the lodge.
