Rodeo has been a part of Jackson Hole’s cowboy culture since the first settlers arrived over 100 years ago. Rodeos take place every Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday nights!
(Easy) Take the Jenny Lake Boat to the far side of the lake and hike around the lake back to the car. You can also skip the boat and do the full loop around the lake. This hike is very popular, so we recommend an early start to avoid the crowds. String lake, which is adjacent to Jenny Lake, is a great place to go relax afterward. We recommend renting SUPs in town to take with you!
Not up for hiking? There are plenty of wildlife safaris that are offered around town so you can see the animals from the comfort of a vehicle. You can also BYOB.
Rent bikes in town or at Dornan's and bike along the path in the park. The bike path ends at Jenny Lake, but if you don't mind biking along the road, you can keep going for as long as you'd like. You can also bike from town out to the park along a paved bike path, as well.
Drive the Grand Loop - look out for wildlife. Old Faithful and all main attractions are well marked. Don't miss the Grand Prismatic springs. Yellowstone is most accessible from Jackson Hole through the South Entrance just north of Jackson Lake. From the town of Jackson, the south entrance is about 57 miles, which takes about one hour 15 minutes in normal summer conditions.
You can access GTNP by driving north on 191. Park gates are located at Moose Junction or continue north to Moran Junction. *Please take bear spray with you if you go on trails* Ideas on things to do in GTNP (also feel free to ask the park rangers): 1. Hike to Delta Lake - (Difficult) This high alpine turquoise lake sits right at the base of the Grand Teton. It is not an easy hike, but it is commonly done by many visitors. We recommend an early start. https://www.outdoorproject.com/united-states/wyoming/delta-lake 2. Lake Solitude - (Moderate, but long) This is a long hike up cascade canyon, but it is a gradual uphill. Please allow all day for this hike, but the views are worth it. https://www.theoutbound.com/wyoming/hiking/hike-to-lake-solitude 3. Phelps Lake - (Easy) If you decide to use the death canyon trailhead, make sure you have a high clearance vehicle. The jumping rock is a great way to cool off on a hot afternoon. https://www.theoutbound.com/wyoming/hiking/hike-to-phelps-lake
