How We Met

09/26/2020

For those keeping score at home, the happy couple met on a Shabbaton in Lawrence, Kansas in the spring of 2016. If only they both knew then what was to come, maybe they would’ve talked to each other then, but more on that later... We resume our stroll down memory lane in September of 2020. Hadas responsibly decided to stay in Arkansas for the summer as we were in the midst of a pandemic. Meanwhile, Thomas had just returned from a summer-long road trip across America and was excited to resume life in Arkansas. Their lives were about to change for the better and they had no idea. Thomas decided to ask a mutual friend, Alex, if she knew of any Jewish women in the area. Luckily, Alex had just the gal in Hadas, who was skeptical that there were any Jewish men in Northwest Arkansas. Thomas could’ve been a bit more creative with a first date choice, but he decided to play it safe with coffee on a Saturday morning for some reason. It didn’t get off to a hot start as the coffee shop was closed, but they didn’t let that derail them. They ended up getting brunch the next day, on the day of Erev Yom Kippur, and Thomas mentioned that he planned on going to Chabad for services. Hadas also intended to go but was understandably unsure that she would see a man by the name of Thomas Edward Dewey the Third anywhere near a shul. Fortunately for the two of them, they both were in attendance and spent the day together while in services. Afterward, they decided to breakfast together where everyone thinks of first- Cracker Barrel. From that moment on, Thomas and Hadas have been inseparable and their relationship blossomed into true love and affection. Which leads us to…

The Engagement

10/09/2021

Almost a year later on a warm day in Los Angeles. Our happy couple was just returning from celebrating Rosh Hashanah in Dallas with the Cohen clan. Thomas had a later flight, so Hadas had the fun task of picking up Thomas from the airport. It was in that moment that Thomas realized that today is the day he will propose. While Hadas was at work Thomas took the day off and began filling the apartment with flowers and setting up for the proposal. Hadas came home from work and was shocked to see the clean apartment filled with flowers. Thomas proposed and she said YES (duh!)
