While you're here for our wedding, please enjoy the rest of this amazing city. We recommend our favorite places below. *please consider traffic, parking, and pricing when planning your stay*
Sunset Cliffs

Sunset Cliffs

For a romantic evening walk along San Diego's Coastline.

Cabrillo Monument

Cabrillo Monument

Stop by the visitor's center and visit the famous monument but be sure to take the scenic drive around the backside to view the tidepools!

Torrey Pines

Torrey Pines

A beautiful 2-in-1 hike and beach! We recommend the Beach Trail Loop which starts with some stairs while the back half allows you to walk in the sand.

La Jolla Cove

La Jolla Cove

Another great place for sightseeing, especially for sea lion lovers. (Note: be aware of the strong sea lion smell.)

San Diego Zoo

San Diego Zoo

Consistently ranked top 5 (if not #1) zoo in the country, this place is huge and so unique. Ask for ice water and hop on the tram when you get tired!

Balboa Park

Balboa Park

Home to countless trails, gardens, restaurants, live theatre, and over 20 museums, you can get lost here. Try to park closest to the museum that you intend on seeing. Fun Fact: the zoo is right next door!

USS Midway

USS Midway

Ever wanted to step foot on a carrier? Look no further. Walk to 'The Kiss' and Seaport Village to take in more of Harbor Drive.

Brigantine Oyster and Seafood Bar

Brigantine Oyster and Seafood Bar

Go to its location on Harbor Drive for a beautiful meal on the water. We went here for our 1 year anniversary. ◡̈

The Mission

The Mission

Oddly enough, our favorite brunch spot. <3 their rosemary bread. Check out their locations! For the most historic option we recommend their location in East Village Downtown.

Phở Hòa

Phở Hòa

My family's go-to weekend breakfast spot for decades. Nothing fancy, just Phở. Tip: have cash and wanna picnic? Grab a Vietnamese sandwich and eggrolls (the ugly ones) at Á Châu a block away.

Tacos

Tacos

We can't pick just one so we made a whole list! Try one or try all! Lucha Libra: Surf and turf burrito City Tacos: Creative tacos for all palettes Lola 55: Vegan offerings Oscar's: Fresh and hefty seafood portions Tacos El Gordo: Famous for their Al Pastor/Adobada/pork (beware of knock-offs) Rubios: Shrimp taco trio

Churros El Tigre

Churros El Tigre

While we try to limit our dessert calories, this modest stand in an outlet mall by San Ysidro makes deliciously fresh churros and churro sundaes (we only recommend those two items, the fried bananas and raspados are so-so).

Kura Sushi

Kura Sushi

Known for its revolving bar! There are Japanese locations, but we prefer eating it stateside for the more creative offerings. Tip: Download app Kura Sushi to mitigate wait times. Located on Convoy street, THE Asian food mecca.

Burgers

Burgers

While you may jump at the chance to eat at the West Coast icon In-N-Out (link to understand their 'secret' menu), both of us prefer different chain burgers. Jacob loves Shake Shack's top-quality ingredients and, for a more affordable burger, Nina recommends The Habit.

Little Italy Mercato Farmer's Market in Downtown San Diego

Little Italy Mercato Farmer's Market in Downtown San Diego

Go Saturday morning and park a couple of blocks away. You will be blown away by the selection and variety of goods, wares, produce, and eats.

Night Life

Night Life

While we haven't personally been to all of these places, they have been recommended to us time and time again. Experience the ultra-themed Trailer Park After Dark Country line dance at Moonshine Flats Sip "illegal" drinks at the speakeasy Prohibition Eat/drink/play free games with a group inside Punch Bowl Social Bar hop around the Gaslamp Quarter or Pacific Beach Socialize at the Quartyard downtown at 13th and Market.
