When did the adoption planning begin?

Answer

We have always felt called to adopt but we figured it would be after having 2-3 biological children. When Alyssa got diagnosed with secondary infertility we went to IVF right away. When that didnt work we were crushed. Friends of ours knew we were considering adoption next and connected with a birth mother this summer! Normally an agency or lawyer is used for a match but with God's plan we skipped that step.

The baby is due this September, most likely the week of September 15th.

What is the financial cost of adoption?

Answer

Much to our surprise adoptions can range from 20 thousand dollars to upwards of 100 thousand dollars here in the United States.

Will you be adopting from birth?

Answer

Yes! The plan is to adopt this baby from the hospital in September.

How long is the adoption process?

Answer

The actual adoption process will be around 6 months. We will have various visits from a social worker after the baby is born.
