Maid of Honor
Mags & Gwen have been best friends since college and their days living together on Berwyn Road. The two are often (affectionately) shamed by their respective fiance's for spending too much time texting and calling each other. She's a lover of cats, and a dedicated fan of very specific sports: if you want any cat trivia, or information about F1 racing and premier league soccer - she's your girl. PS. Her birthday is the day before our wedding, but she hates being the center of attention so please don't say anything!!
Best Man
From the streets of Ulmstead to the back alleys of Baltimore, Mike and Steve have spent very few years of their life outside of walking distance (4 to be exact). A friendship that was formed over taco-in-a-bag at neighborhood swim meets and solidified over the summer festival circuit, if they can’t be found in their respective rowhomes it’s likely they’re either dancing the night away at the nearest (or farthest) concert venue or ripping the slopes wherever there’s snow (Jerries beware).
Bridesmaid
Gwen & Al met freshman year of college and have followed each other from Collie Park, to MoCo, to Fed Hill! They have a standing gel manicure date every 3 weeks and can often be found enjoying a rooftop happy hour. If any throwback hits play during the night - guaranteed you can find her on the middle of the dance floor knowing ALL the words and pointing out the key changes.
Groomsman
A man of mystery, many people know Brandon as a free spirit with a love of the outdoors, but few know the ingredients that led to it like Steve does. Brandon and Steve met in Cub Scouts where they frequently pushed the boundaries (and may have lost their Whittling Chits in the process). Then they took to the streets on longboards, always in search of the next send. And today they take backpacking trips in the dark complete with philosophical musings and pick out the tastiest glade runs on the slopes, with no signs of slowing down soon.
Bridesmaid
Ang is another Maryland Terp and former roomie! Gwen credits Ang for teaching her how to do make up, cook meals besides ramen, and do laundry properly. She moved to California, but the two keep in touch through facetimes, cute dog videos, and the occasional cookie cake or snap pea crisp delivery. She lights up the room with her bubbly personality, & knows more about soil than probably 99% of the rest of the world. Keep an eye out for her and her husband breaking out the Carolina Shag on the dance floor!
Groomsman
Once Steve cracked through Ben’s tough competitive exterior, they became best of friends through a shared love of soccer, cars, skiing (or snowboarding….urchin), and all the latest tech. Ben was dubbed an honorary member of the Ulmstead 4th of July festivities after his unwavering dedication to creating the neighborhood’s wildest (or sketchiest) float, and always comes to events loaded to the gills with full coolers, games, and a good time! Ben may be moving to Boulder, but he knows Steve will be showing up on his doorstep strapped to his sticks, ready to shreddy at a moment’s notice.
Bridesmaid
Gwen & Annella became friends in pre-engineering class their freshman year of high school, and solidified their friendship over their shared obsession with the Jonas Brothers & Twilight. She was voted “most likely to fall down the bleachers” in high school, but don’t be fooled she’s now an Orange Theory instructor and a Just Dance Queen. Most of the year living at home after college was spent (along with Eden) in Annella's basement watching trash TV (much to her mothers dismay), and discussing their future (now current!) medical professions.
Groomsman
Brian and Steve have been friends since middle school, but the friendship truly blossomed after spending 4 years as roommates in Baltimore. If Steve was to ever get into a street brawl, Brian would be his first choice to have on his side. A loyal protector, Brian’s always got your back. If they’re not watching the Terps game at the DK Lounge, then check Delia’s, Magerk’s, or One Star….they might be there.
Bridesmaid
Corinne & Steve became best friends in high school, & thank goodness they did so Gwen & Corinne could become friends later on! She’s loyal, always laughing, & makes every event more fun. Her & her husband Evan share Gwen & Steve's love for mimosas and Premier League soccer, and have spent many a weekend morning together enjoying both. She also has the worlds best laugh, so keep your ear out for a contagious cackle coming from the dance floor.
Groomsman
Peanut butter and jelly, Oreos and milk, wine and cheese, Cory and Topanga….you get the idea. Evan & Steve met playing soccer, but it was their unquestionably similar personalities that eventually led to “best buds” status. Both hardworking and serious from the outside, that quickly fades when these two get together and a laugh is a dime a dozen. You’re hard-pressed to not have a good time when Evan & Steve are around.
Bridesmaid
Casey is the California based half of Gwen's future sisters in law! She's adventurous, creative, and has a heavy cocktail making hand. Her & her husband Zach have opened their California home to Gwen & Steve several times with lots of great mems (Pirate Weekend 2019 can't be topped), but we're secretly still hoping they'll move back soon!!
Groomsman
Dylan and Steve’s fairytale started in college as a somewhat forced friendship, since their significant others happened to be best friends… that quickly led to a formidable beer pong duo in the Berwyn region of College Park. Fast forward 7 years….Dyl & Mags have a cat (hi Evie) and a townhouse where they frequently host Steve & Gwen for Premier League brunch. 2 weeks after Steve & Gwen tie the knot, Dyl & Mags will do the same! (Copycats…)
Bridesmaid
Corvina is Gwen's favorite sister! The two shared a room for most of their childhood, and were often mistaken for twins (possibly due to the matching outfits Gwen used to beg to wear). She lives in Germany now - but the two keep in touch via skype and nostalgic 90's memes.
Groomsman
Erik is Steve's soon to be brother-in-law, and calls Berlin, Germany, home. The two share a love for music and soccer, and have bonded over the trauma of being the youngest with two older sisters. Erik’s combination of street-smarts and musical abilities make up a cultured man and a crucial component that the wedding party wouldn’t be complete without.
Bridesmaid
Darian is the extrovert to Gwen's introvert - she bounced into Gwen's dorm room (probably without knocking) freshman year to introduce herself and THANK GOODNESS she did! The two lived together for most of college, & she has put up with Gwen's medical questions and self-diagnoses since they met. The two have gone on to achieve their dream careers but will never forget where they came from - an EXTREMELY messy, mildly air-conditioned, smartie filled dorm room with Pitch Perfect playing on repeat.
Groomsman
Jordi or Jordy? ….the debate rages on. One of the OG Ulmstead crew members (s/o U-Crew), Jordi & Steve’s friendship has never missed a beat, from Ulmstead to Broadneck to UMD to Berwyn and beyond! Jordi’s generosity, care for others, and event-planning prowess is well-known throughout the friend group. As self-proclaimed conductor of the GroupMe, they owe credit to Jordi for many of the fun times that are had (he’s still a Parkie though…).
Bridesmaid
Eden & Gwen go way back - like 24 years back! The two met on the pre-team of the Quail Valley Marlins swim team, reunited in high school, & have traveled the world together from Europe, to spring break cruises, to music festivals. She has put up with Gwen’s emotional side and physical touch love language for most of that time despite not being a hugger (or crier) herself. Eden is responsible for most of Gwen's movie/TV show education, and introduced her to the world of music festivals (along with Steve). She lives in Kansas City now, but never fails to remember important events worthy of sending a hand written card (she learned that from her Mama, shout out to Lynn).
Groomsman
As the founding member of Kids on a Rampage Productions (and now brewing), James is the creative mind behind a lot of the weird activities that ensued in high school. James & Steve spent many hours together editing footage (even if Steve was mainly there for moral support) and longboarding the streets of Bay Hills and Ashley. Always open-minded, and never judgmental, James is a welcoming friend to all. Luckily, Coast Guard has brought him back to Maryland, allowing James and Steve to continue the bromance.
Bridesmaid
Kelly is Gwen's middle child soul-sister-in-law - the two share a passion for real estate reality TV, Deep Eddy's (along with the rest of the Svehlak clan), and going to bed early. Not to be outdone, she also shares Casey's talent for making efficient drinks. Kelly lives on the Eastern Shore and along with her husband has day trips to Assateague Island down to a science, & is always the hostess with the mostess. She keeps everyone laughing at family events, & guaranteed she'll have on the trendiest outfit at our wedding!
Groomsman
Garry Hannon, Gare Bear, Arthur Shelby, Gertrude….he goes by many names, but this man is more than a nickname. Dependable, in a word, and like many in the Broadneck family, he’s always up for a good time (or just a bonfire chat to catch up on life). At the wedding, Garry will be the shirtless one on the dance floor, flexing for the camera. Careful, too many compliments and his head will grow two sizes.
Bridesmaid
Logan is Gwen's best friend & roomie from physical therapy school. She's a Southern Belle from Georgia - sweet (but sassy when she needs to be), curious, & adventurous. They share a love for working with patients with neurological disorders - and often bored the other members of the Sumwalt Dinner Club with detailed discussions of patients cases. She's known for traveling with her adorable puppy Sophie who is Michael Storey's stiffest competition for flower girl at the wedding.
Groomsman
Engineering projects by day, and air sax at Looney’s by night. Sam & Steve commiserated over the shared struggle of an Engineering major and bonded over music and late-night talks at Berwyn. Though distance has tried to keep Sam & Steve apart since college, they’ve always found a way to meet up on the slopes or catch up when they’re in the same neighborhood. Similar career paths and a slew of memories always make it easy picking up right where they left off.
