First comes school then comes marriage..... We first crossed paths during our freshman year in Chemistry class. That moment wasn’t quite our time, so our story didn’t begin there. Life had us on different paths, but little did we know it was only the beginning. Fast forward to sophomore year, after a very long year of chemistry (and more than a few tears because Ian wouldn’t help me… it’s fine, I’ve forgiven him now) we met again in a Child and Family Studies marriage counseling course. (ironic right?) Determined not to let him off easy after my chemistry struggles, I made it my mission to challenge him on every thought and belief he had in class. Around the same time, we also ended up in calculus together, where I noticed something sweet: every single day, he would hold the door open for me after class. Eventually, (my now maid of honor) Annie and I did a little Instagram “research” (aka stalking) and gave him a follow. He followed me back, and not long after, on October 19th he slid into my DMs asking for my number and if I wanted to study for our upcoming exam. That study session was the start of something neither of us could deny, a one way ticket to failing calculus together and a love that would change my life. From that day on, we’ve been inseparable and I thank God everyday for putting Ian in my CFS 200 Marriage Counseling class. xoxo, Gwenyth
It all started in Calculus. I noticed this girl with headphones on, completely in her own world, and I just had to know who she was. Every day after that, I made it my mission to open the door for her. Walking into class, leaving class, every chance I got. This was my premeditated plan to make her notice me. We also had a Child and Family Studies class together, where I was one of only two guys in the room. She sat behind me, typing loudly on her laptop, and every time I gave an opinion, she was on the other side of the room ready to challenge it. Then one day, I got an Instagram follow request from her (she swears it was her friend Annie, but I still accepted). I sent a message asking if she wanted to study for our upcoming exam, and that was me shooting my shot. Ever since, our love has grown exponentially and we are excited to start our life together! - Ian
