We're Getting Married!

Gigi’s Perspective: The first time I saw him was right before a BYU football game. I briefly introduced myself, but I spent most of the game with his friends and my best friend. The next day, I was talking to my mom about it and showed her a picture. Without hesitation, she said, "He's the cutest one." Moms always know, don’t they? A year passed, and I might have seen him in passing once or twice. Then, as fall semester began, I walked into my physiology class—and there he was. Tall, smiley, and impossible to miss. We chatted a bit each morning, and I quickly realized how kind, handsome, and funny he was. Though we sat far apart, we’d catch each other’s eye and share little smiles across the room. Early in the semester, I broke my arm. One day in class, he came up to me and asked to sign my cast. I said yes but didn’t have a Sharpie. Without missing a beat, he tore open his backpack, already prepared. He took his time writing, until finally, my friend asked, “What are you signing that’s taking so long?” He shrugged and said, “My number.” The number was completely illegible. But somehow, I still found him—and from that moment on, we’ve been inseparable. I have loved every part of this journey: laughing until we can’t breathe, spending too much money on silly things, playing Minecraft, studying together, and most of all, loving him. Cade's Perspective: When Gigi walks into a room, she turns heads—mine included. From the moment I saw her, I was captivated. She is the perfect blend of nerdy, funny, and drop-dead gorgeous. You’ve already read about the smooth way I got her number, but what you didn’t read was just how nervous I was. After all, who wouldn’t be when walking up to an angel? It all started with eye contact. My eyes were always drawn to her, but one fateful day, she decided to look back. (No physiology got done that day.) From the little smiles across the room to the sparkle in her beautiful green eyes, I knew she was special. Luckily, she gave me a chance, and everything took off from there. From our first Panda Express trip to our hundredth. From binge-watching Ted Lasso to Stranger Things. From hearing our song for the first time to quoting it constantly. From talking with our families over the phone to meeting them in person. From our first kiss to the proposal. From every moment since we met to now, we’ve only grown closer. It has been a wild ride, and I can’t wait for forever with this incredible woman by my side.
