Question

How do I get to or find the venue?

Answer

The venue is located approximately 40 minutes west of Buffalo, WY off of Highway 16. From Story, the drive to the venue is 1 hour. We will have a visible banner at every turn and recommend you use your mapping application for reference only - Google Maps will try to route you a shorter way but the route Google chooses requires a high clearance vehicle at minimum. DO NOT FOLLOW GOOGLE unless you manually change the route to take you through Hazelton road. The best address to put into Google Maps is either the coordinates or: 5436+RWG Hazelton, Wyoming. Do not type in "Johnson County Youth Camp" into your mapping application, it will take you to the wrong location. The driving directions from Buffalo are as follows: From North Main street in Buffalo, turn right onto Fort St/Hwy 16. Continue west on Hwy 16 for 26 miles. Turn left onto Hazelton Road. Continue south on Hazelton Road for .7 miles. Turn left onto Billy Creek Rd. Continue on Billy Creek Rd for 1.1 miles. Take a slight left at the Y onto Youth Camp Road. Continue on this road for approximately 1.5 miles. You will come to a 4-way intersection. You will be able to see the lodge from here, just across a grassy field. Continue straight/slight left onto the gravel drive to the Youth Camp. The driving directions from Ten Sleep are as follows: From Main street/US 16, continue East on US 16 for 36.8 miles. Turn right onto Hazelton Road.

Question

What amenities will be at the wedding location?

Answer

The wedding location is a county-owned youth camp that has a small lodge and large open area for parking and camping. The lodge has electricity and Starlink internet access. There is a hand pump outside in front of the lodge for drinking water. There are 3 outhouses with pit toilets on site. There are no electric or water hookups for camper trailers. The event will be fully catered with a tended bar. This will include light refreshments prior to the ceremony, a grazing table during cocktail hour, dinner, and dessert. Breakfast the following morning will also be provided - breakfast burritos, pastries, coffee, juice, and a bloody Mary bar - all self serve.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Casual or dressy casual - but dress for comfort and changing temperatures. Comfortable footwear is highly recommended. The venue is at approximately 7750 feet in elevation. At this elevation temperatures drop overnight. Weather in early/mid June on average has daily highs in the 70's and overnight lows in the 50's. Bring warm layers for the chilly evening/next morning. Afternoon thunderstorms are also a possibility. In the event of wet weather, the ceremony will be moved into the lodge.
