Question

Answer

The wedding celebrations take place at Rayavadee Krabi, a luxury resort set between jungle cliffs and the sea in Krabi, Thailand. We suggest a few days ahead of time in Bangkok which is where you will first fly into.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

For Krabi, we recommend staying at our wedding hotel, Rayavadee, or a nearby resort, Railay Bay Resort & Spa Bhu Nga Thani Resort & Villas Railay Sand Sea Resort Avatar Railay Resort Here are our suggestions for Bangkok: Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok Movenpick Hotel Sukhumvit 15 Carlton Hotel Bangkok Sukhumvit InterContinental Bangkok Sukhumvit by IHG

Question

How do I get to Krabi?

Answer

Fly into Bangkok (BKK) then take a 1-hour flight to Krabi International Airport (KBV). If you are staying in Bangkok, you can also fly from the DMK airport to Krabi. There are more times available from that airport. From there, it’s a short scenic boat ride to Rayavadee Hotel, where the wedding will be held. We will provide transport details closer to the date. Please send us your flight details as soon as you book. *Please make sure to add any additional luggage when booking the flight from Bangkok to Krabi. This is a smaller plane and there are baggage/weight limits with the general tickets.*

Question

When should I arrive in Thailand?

Answer

Feel free to explore around Thailand before or after the wedding, but we suggest that guests be in Bangkok by March 15 to allow time to explore the city and adjust to the time difference. Please arrive in Krabi by March 18 to join the full celebration.

Question

How do I book my hotel for Bangkok and Krabi?

Answer

For Krabi: the wedding will take place at Rayavadee, where we have a special discounted room rate. This is the venue where we’ll be getting married, so staying here means you’ll be right in the heart of the celebration. The Deluxe Pavilion is available at a rate of $600 USD a night. Other room types may be available upon request. https://www.rayavadee.com To book, please email Khun Pin, the event manager, at event_service@rayavadee.com and mention "Gwen and Erick wedding" to access our group rate. If you decide to stay at one of the other resorts mentioned, there is no room rate and you can book directly on the website. These resorts are a more affordable option (starting at around $130 to $300/night) and are only a 10 minute walk to Rayavadee. https://www.krabi-railaybay.com/ https://www.bhungathani.com/ https://www.krabisandsea.com/ https://www.avatarrailay.com/ For Bangkok: We have linked our suggestions below. Bangkok is a huge city and we chose to stay in Sukhumvit since it is a central area and about 30-40 minutes to the airport by taxi or the Airport Rail link. Please feel free to stay in any other part of Bangkok as long as you arrive in Krabi by the 18th. Question

Ladies Dress Code For The Wedding Day?

Answer

Our dress code is TROPICAL RESORT FORMAL; elegant, colorful, and seasonally appropriate for a warm, coastal setting. Think flowy fabrics, vibrant tones, and silhouettes that move with the breeze. Find visual inspo on our lookbook, here: https://www.canva.com/design/DAG_K3Jy_SE/FkBiwvEeHTkTl9xse39ZxA/view?utm_content=DAG_K3Jy_SE&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link2&utm_source=uniquelinks&utlId=h8e739e1d8c The ceremony will take place on a grassy lawn, followed by a beachside reception in a cave. Comfortable footwear is highly recommended, as you’ll be walking on both grass and sand.

Question

Gentleman Dress code for wedding day

Answer

The dress code is TROPICAL RESORT FORMAL--which is like laid-back formal: smart, comfortable attire fit for a tropical celebration. We suggest lightweight dress pants, a button-up shirt, and a breathable blazer or suit jacket if you'd like to elevate the look. Find visual inspo on our lookbook, here: https://www.canva.com/design/DAG_K3Jy_SE/FkBiwvEeHTkTl9xse39ZxA/view?utm_content=DAG_K3Jy_SE&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link2&utm_source=uniquelinks&utlId=h8e739e1d8c The ceremony will take place on a grassy lawn, and the reception will be held in a cave by the beach—so yes, there will be sand. Choose shoes that are comfortable for both.

Question

What’s the best way to pay for things in Thailand?

Answer

You will able to book hotels and some things in USD ahead of time, but once you’re here, you’ll definitely want to have some Thai Baht on hand. Especially for street food, local shops, and anything too cute to pass up at a night market. For a rough idea: a bowl of noodles at a local spot is usually around 50 THB (a little less than $2 USD). Most malls, larger shops, and established restaurants accept credit cards. At restaurants, a 7% service charge is often already included in your bill. Tipping is not traditionally expected in Thailand.
